Overview

ED Habit Tracker ("we", "us", "our") is an indie habit-tracking application. We respect your privacy and are committed to keeping your data safe. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What Data We Collect

Account & Authentication

When you sign up we store your email address and a securely hashed password (or an OAuth provider token). We use this solely to authenticate you and manage your account.

Habit & Tracking Data

We store the habits you create, daily check-ins, streaks, and any notes you add. This data is tied to your account so you can access it across devices.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics (PostHog) to understand how the app is used — page views, feature adoption, and general usage patterns. We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers. Analytics data is aggregated and not used to build individual profiles.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the habit-tracking service
• To authenticate your identity and secure your account
• To understand usage patterns and fix bugs (via aggregated analytics)

How Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in a hosted Supabase (PostgreSQL) database with row-level security enabled. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication & database hosting
• Vercel — application hosting
• PostHog — privacy-friendly analytics

Each provider has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
